Counting Coins

Now that you know your coins, it's time to count them! In this class you'll learn to put coins in order, count groups of the same coin, and build amounts using different combinations. Plus, you'll discover the difference between things you can hold and things people do for you.

What you'll learn

  • Order all NZ coins from most valuable to least — and discover a surprising twist about coin sizes
  • Count groups of the same coin using skip counting
  • Build a target money amount using different coin combinations
  • Recognise that there is always more than one way to make the same amount
  • Explain the difference between goods (things you buy) and services (things people do for you)
